About Us
What does your group do?
We come together to learn more about our spiritual nature as the image and likeness of divine Love, the Principle of all being. We use as our guides the Bible and the book Science & Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. We work to apply what we are learning to our lives. We do not judge other people, their backgrounds or lifestyles, but join together to help each grow in spiritual understanding and practice.
May I come and be welcome?
You are always welcome in our reading room and at any of our services and activities. Our Reading Room is open Monday through Thursday 11:30 to 1:30. You can come Sunday mornings at 10 am and listen to the weekly Christian Science Bible Lesson read. On the first and third Wednesdays of the month at 12:30 pm, we meet to listen to readings on a special topic and then to share experiences we have had in learning and practicing Christian Science.
We also offer a Sunday school Sunday mornings at 9 am for children up to age 20 to learn about the spiritual teachings of the Bible and how they can apply the principles of joy, courage, honesty, in their own lives.
What is Christian Science?
Christian Science was discovered by Mary Baker Eddy in the 1860’s, and she recorded what she learned in a book called Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. Through her study, research, and practice, she learned that the teachings and healings of Christ Jesus are applicable today, that “God is a very present help in trouble,” and can be relied upon for healing.
How is Christian Science different from other churches?
One significant difference is that our church has no personal pastor. Its pastor rather is the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, and these are available 24 hours a day to provide help and healing. Its services and meetings are conducted by church members who share the responsibility amongst themselves.
